STORY STORY

with culinary grandeur,
he seasoned you
with spices of promises.

Parboiled you briskly
on the cooker
of his affection.

His mouth sheds saliva
like a spring
anytime he perceives the aroma of your person.

Gear up woman,
fraternize amicably with his taste buds
in character, appearance and candour.

Lest he tastes your flaw
and spits you
into the dustbin of avoidance.

METAMORPHOSIS

Let me
spring from
the recess
of your soul
like a plant
tending
towards the
luminance
of sunlight.
Let me cohabit
with the chlorophyll
of your passion,
candour; person,
till our amity
becomes
a photosynthesis
of forever after.

WHY?

Fasogbon,
How many years
Did you sip from the citadel of sapience?
That you have decided
Not to take life’s demeanor by the horn

Remember,
When you returned,
We magnified the ascension of your glory;
We even danced to beats
Eulogizing the dominion of your name. Solidarism.
.
But now that
Dominoes scare away
The omphalos of our finances

And bankruptcy threatens
The grace of our household

You just sit here daily, unperturbed,
Swiping the screen of your iPhone

Why?
