De Nardos

I can not accept that
you are forever gone.
I can still see your smile
when I close my eyes.
I still remember you with,
The singing of the cicadas
during a Mexican sunset.
The sweet smell of
freshly baked orange cake.
The sound of the rain
upon an old tin roof.
The sweetest smile
of an innocent child.
The scent of Nardos
your favorite flower.
Perhaps I told you a
thousand times that
I loved you
But I should have said it
one more time,
always one more time.
And not assume that
you already knew it.
You are still living here,
inside my heart.
But in my soul
you left an empty space
that nobody could fill ever.
You have drifted away like,
the Nardos scent in October.

In Your Eyes

In your eyes I saw the sunset;
I saw the full Moon rising high.
I see a love that will never end
through the twilight of our lives.
I see us waltz lovingly everyday
carefree, innocent and beloved.
Move with an enchanting grace
fear none of the evil displayed.
Drift away into sweetest dreams
enjoy your journey without harm.
Hold my hand and kiss my lips
at sunrise, dreams will be gone.
In your eyes I saw the answer to
my prayers from the one above.
In your eyes I found the peace
I was looking for, in your eyes
I found my forever home.

The Missing Piece

One by one
I'm picking up the pieces
of my fractured heart
scattered along the way.
One by one
I will put them back
where they belong.
Some pieces are sharp
and make me bleed,
some are full of scars
and unrecognizable.
One by one
I'm putting the puzzle together
although some pieces will
not longer fit; only dust left.
One by one
It's almost complete but
there is a missing piece
an empty space hard to fill
The missing piece is YOU.
One by one
I'm turning my tears into letters
letters into words
words into poems
and my shattered heart
into an unbreakable masterpiece
A heart made of stained glass.
