Its jaws closed upon her neck.

Born and raised in India. Worked in Middle East and London. Daughter, wife and sister, aspiring to be known in the space of poetry as someone who weaves magic into language and combines unique design and strong color to her work of art.

George Zamalea graduated from La Habana University with degrees in Literature, Philosophy, & History. Immigrated to the world. Lived in Spain, France, Italy, and Brazil. Received a recipient of Creative Writing & Language & BA in USA. Awards: First place of the 2011 International Latino Book Awards in the category of Best Spiritual / New Age book in English with the Six Seasonal Amendments, A Hispanic Inspiration. I currently live in northern New Mexico, after stints in Louisiana, Texas, the Netherlands, Scotland and Norway. I'm on the masthead at the Prague Revue. I launched a novel last year with Southern Yellow Pine, Jupiter and Gilgamesh, a Novel of Sumeria and Texas. I was a finalist in the 2014 New Mexico-Arizona Book awards in four categories.

I've been a finalist a few places but never a winner. I've published here and there but received enough rejection to achieve humbleness. Ana Déborah F. do Canto is a 21 years old college student from Brazil.

“Shhhh!” she said. Her eyes shined in the darkness of the bedroom and I laughed even more.

She put her hand over my mouth. Our eyes met, she smiled and whispered:

“Will you be quiet if I tell you a story?”

Diana Corbitt is a retired elementary school teacher who has lived her entire life in northern California. She has two sons who, although grown up and out of the house, still live nearby. Besides writing, Diana enjoys creating stained glass windows and lamps, travel, and eating popcorn at the movies.

Gwendolyn Kiste is a horror and fantasy writer based in Pennsylvania. Her fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in numerous publications including Sirens Call, Danse Macabre, Dark Fire Fiction, 99 Pine Street, and Saturday Night Reader.

ANTHONY LA FLAME: FLASH "BLUE SUNRISE"

Anthony La Flame is a short story fiction writer who is currently studying for his B.A. in English, His first short story has appeared in Fictionmagazines: Under the Bed. Some of his works in-progress projects include flash fiction and short story pieces. Born in Washington State, he currently resides in Pennsylvania.

The author’s first novel was published by Fireship Press in the spring of 2013, entitled 1812 The Land Between Flowing Waters. The author has published two short stories with Inwood Indiana and a third is forthcoming in 2015. The author grew up in Marshall County, Indiana, and as a young man, attended Indiana University.

Underground!

In a tube within a tube, people sped through the dark, oblivious to the traffic and the weather on the surface. In the rush hour, if the system was functioning properly, trains followed each other in quick succession, one pulling out of a station as the next pulled in, each packed with passengers, disgorging then embarking, transporting them in swaying, rattling discomfort, to and from work and home.

My first full-length collection is coming out in February with Vox Press - The White Trash Pantheon. My current chapbook, Poems Under Surveillance (Finishing Line Press, 2013) is currently available in independent bookstores. The opera for which I wrote the libretto, entitled Lotus Lives, was performed in the Northeast in 2012 and is currently being considered for broadcast by WGBH Boston. I have been nominated for the Pushcart four times. I have been featured on Poetry Daily. My work has recently appeared in Iowa Review, Cider Press Review, Southampton Review, Bridges, Barrow Street, Connecticut Review, The Pikeville Review, Rio Grande Review, English Journal, New Song, The Penwood Review, Sow’s Ear, The Madison Review, Atlanta Review, Grasslands Review, WSQ, Global City Review, Comstock Review, California Quarterly, Wisconsin Review, The Red Rock Review, and many other publications.

Chrystal dabbles, lots, and somewhere in those dabbles blossoms ideas that take shape into images. Many of her current pieces of artwork start out as three minute gesture drawings and eventually get paired with still life photography and a lot of playing in Photoshop. She loves to take pictures, especially out in the woods, where she can sit on a rock or a log and wait quietly, jotting notes for stories until something happens by. A free spirit, Chrystal digs in dirt, dances in rain and chases storms, all at the whims of her muses.

Joseph Buehler lives in northern Georgia with his wife Trish. He is a retired deputy property appraiser from Sarasota County, Florida. He has published poetry in "Bumble Jacket Miscellany", "Defenestration", "Common Ground Review", "Theodate", "Mad Swirl", "The Write Room", "The Tower journal","Turk's Head Review", "The Stray Branch" and has an upcoming poem in the spring of 2015 in "Two Cities Review".

D. Eric Hill, born in Washington DC, was first photographed among the cherry blossoms. This, no doubt, forms the basis for his colorful politics and a life long pursuit of cherry pie. That his Grandfather was a minister, no doubt explains, his intense desire to find another way to God than Religion. His writing comes from his profound need to get this crazy stuff out of his head.

Pond Scum

I’d like to remember what time of year it was, but the fact of the matter is, I was four to five years old and there’s not much about that day I remember before I jumped into the pond.

Madge Kaplan, Director of Communications, Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), is responsible for developing new and innovative means for IHI to communicate the stories, leading examples of change, and policy implications emerging from the world of quality improvement in health care. Madge is also the host and producer of IHI's online audio "talk show" called WIHI, a program she conceived of and founded in 2009. Madge came to IHI after a 20-year career in broadcast journalism for public radio. She began exploring non-fiction and playwriting more than a decade ago. Many of her essays have aired on radio or been published in print. Her first play, The Last Appointment, was produced on Martha’s Vineyard in October 2011.

Julia Oller is a sophomore journalism student at Taylor University in Upland, where she is the News Co-editor for her school paper. Her favorite part of the job is sharing the incredible stories of ordinary students and employees.

Crushed

She stood in the barn kitchen, straining to lift the round metal drum full of frothing milk high enough to pour into the quart-sized Mason jars lined up in front of her. Straining, too, to hear the sound of a car engine signifying the end of his stay.
