We are on hiatus!
Indiana Voice Journal is currently closed to submissions. Our next reading/submission period will begin upon announcement.

Guidelines for IVJ

Indiana Voice Journal considers fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, essays, visual art, reviews, and interviews.  Always looking for regional stories and writers with an Indiana connection, but will read, consider and appreciate everything sent to us.  Open to all writers.

General Guidelines

What We Want:

We want to hear YOUR voice.  We seek work that breathes and moves and is alive. We believe that "good art" comes forth from the spirit to reveal, to comfort, to heal, to bring joy, to surprise!

We love to discover new writers and promote their work alongside more experienced authors. Always looking for regional stories and writers with a Midwest connection... but will read, consider and appreciate everything sent to us. Open to all writers.

 What We Don't Want:

No porn, racism, hate, violence or gore. No grocery lists. No coupons or receipts. No personal attacks on ex-spouses, lovers, sisters, etc... "disguised" as stories. No creatures, vampires or zombies.

What We Need:

1. Read and understand the guidelines and the journal before submitting your work.

2. Subscribe.  It's easy. It's free.
