The Patriot
He loves his nation
Although he sees it falling apart
He can’t forget the pride in his heart
Of wearing his Uniform
Like his father,
His brothers before
he wishes he could serve again
But his body is too sore
He shakes his head at the news every day
As the values his nation were founded on continue to decay
We write a letter to the president
The senators,
The congressmen too
He once served this great nation
But now this is all he can do
For he is the Patriot,
He will always be
In love with his nation
In love with lady liberty
