A Poem By Adam Levon Brown: "Beat Love"

"Beat Love" By Adam Lavon Brown

Beat Love

Sitting on the back
Porch

Cigarette between
My lips

Pounding my djembe
With primal passion

The tribal beats carry
Me to a land of unity
And peace

The beat of my heart
Quickens with each
Pat of the divine circle

Communication
Through drums
Can only be described
as auditory bliss

I really enjoyed this poem, Adam. I've never actually been a part of a drum circle, but I am inspired to do it. Thank you. (I don't think we're ever too old to try new things.)

    1. Thank you, Janine. Being a part of a drum circle is magical. You can find them here in Eugene on most Saturdays. I definitely recommend trying it out. Smile.
