A Poem by Monique Hayes: "Undone"

Undone

you can't thread together
the meaning of
my dropped eyes
and uncoiled backside
if you proudly place
purl stitches of degradation
with needles of suggestive words
and don't ever pause
your nimble fingers
to consider my soul's measure.
